Garden Blessing and Yard Clean Up

Many thanks to our volunteers that came out on a cold Saturday, November 11, to work in the Atlee yard and put the Community Garden to bed. We cut down asparagus ferns, tilled, and planted red clover in the garden.  Several took a truck and trailer to gather pine tags which we used to cover the asparagus bed and put around the remaining cabbages.  We harvested about a pound of carrots, and then had a servicer of Thanksgiving for the bounty of the Garden.

The All Souls Community Garden is a source of pride for the volunteers, and a source of food to the pantries in the Mechanicsville area.  This year over 3300 pounds of food was donated, our largest harvest in the six years of the garden.

Thank you volunteers for your dedication and love for helping others.
